This chapter gives an overview of the health impacts of the transport system. It first gives an overview of the links between travel behaviour and health of travellers: levels of physical activity (walking, cycling), air pollution intake, casualties, and well-being. Next it discusses the links between travel behaviour and health of non-traveller. Key determinants for these health effects are nearby effects like air pollution and risks, climate change effects, and well-being, whereas transport related well-being of non-travellers depend on accessibility levels they face. Both topics are organized along conceptual models.
